A two-minute drive from the cabin leads to Sullivan Public in Eldred. This creative space offers a variety of classes for all ages (think: pottery or silk screening). It’s also a creative makers’ shop to find unique clothing, home goods, and much more.

The high-end Homestead restaurant and bar is a mere five miles the cabin. They offer Bourbon tastings, weekend happy hours, or just a lovely spot to toast your Catskills getaway.

The Monteleone brothers hail from Brooklyn and they brought the goods to Eldred. The ‘za at their open-air seasonal (May-Oct) Corner Piazza can go head-to-head with any slice from the five boroughs.

Find Your Zen
In the neighboring town of Glen Spey is the World Peace Temple. This Kadampa Buddhist temple is one of only four in the world and the only one in North America. Set among 82 acres of forest, this welcoming retreat offers Saturday workshops as well as public hiking trails, a café, and bookshop.

Vegetables, leafy greens, and herbs are sustainably grown at MG Hydrofarm in Eldred. Using a water-based nutrient solution in a greenhouse rather than soil, the hydrofarm provides healthy produce to locals and visitors all year long.

Nearby Barryville is ever-so-slightly larger than Eldred. Tucked along the Delaware River, its has a handful of fun restaurants, bars, cafés, antique shops and even a vinyl record shop. Its seasonal farmers’ market (May-Oct) is a Saturday morning must-do.
